Sport Class will cease to exist in AHS from next year onwards. It was disappointing when I read about it from the papers. Since it was where I know our fellow buddies: ben, ch, cs, ian, ky, swee. I missed those times and sportsclass was always a reason why we can easily identify ourselves as sports students of AHS, now we can only respect the decision of the school to remove the scheme.

Last thur, I went back to catch the East Zone Basketball Championships for both C' boys and girls. The number who turned up for the games was amazing. The whole Lee Kuo Chuan stadium was occupied and u would have difficulty getting out to toilet if u had to. =D This was the 1st time i ever saw AHS students being so supportive of school's sports event. Both our boys and girls got into the final of the East Zone tournament, and the opponents were both from Dunman Sec. Unfortunately, our girls lost their game. It was obvious that there was a gap between the both teams though our girls really tried their best to win it.

The guys' victory later was a sweet revenge for the embarrassment we endured by the defeat of the girls. It was 107-42. I simply love the thrill and excitement the guys gave. There was this instance when AHS was 99-40 and AHS was fouled and given 2 throws. The crowd was so excited and repeatedly shouted "One Hundred!", i didnt participate in the shouting but I know i was with them. LOL! When the 1st one was in, I even jumped up and celebrated with my friends beside me. The students continued to overwhelm rival supporters with our familiar cheers and screams. That instant, I felt like becoming an Anglican once again!

Back when we represented school for tournaments, we would train train hard for the school's glory, however, I failed to see so much support from fellow non-sports school mates. Instead, sometimes I felt that I was fighting and representing sports class instead of AHS due to the lack of support. Maybe the removal of the Sportsclass scheme will be good for the unity of the school as a whole.
