drumstick

The 15th of the Seventh lunar month is always the busiest day for my mum. She would work throughout the night, without sleep at times, to get the cooking done in time for offerings. The offerings can start as early as early afternoon and end in the early evening.

The drumsticks are always one of the dishes which my bro and i would have an eye for.

I recalled those days when my grandmother was well and healthy, my bro and I were still very young (my grandma passed away when i was 10). That time, we were small eaters and my mum would only prepare 1 chicken. There would only be 2 chicken drumsticks and she would detached them from the whole-piece chicken, placing them on our bowls, we would then happily finished it. The others seemingly had no objection about it.

Since then, the drumsticks would always be assumed to be ours. This practice is indeed a strange one in my family, and each time, without fail, i would let my bro take the 1st one while i happily waited for the second one.

Now, my bro and I were certainly much able eaters of the family and now my mum has to prepare about 3-4 chickens for this type of festivals. Similarly, the first 2 drumsticks would go to us. No one would bother to snatch it from us.

I rushed back from NTU, to offer my respect. How i wish they were really here, to see that i value this day so much.

There was a sudden flashback and how happy I was to consume the chicken drumstick.

If u think i m merely talking about drumsticks, den u are belittling the value which the drumsticks had given my bro and me...

=D

Lol, don't be so modest lah ys. Food has completely nth to do with you being lao san, don't taint the purity of your position with this absurd idea.

Unless you're even capable of doing cok stuff with food, which is not entirely impossible come to think of it... hmm...
