Day 1

Day 1 of Kuching trip turns out to be my favourite. Why? Haha, cos my hall won in the interhall games before i flew off to Kuching. Oh man, that was the reason why i was busy sms-ing my teammates for updates of scores and encouragement for them.

This was supposed to be my highlight of this post. This year we were quite sad to land in the "group of death". Losing to hall 9 again would mean kissing goodbye to IHG, but we were happy to beat them and reserve a spot in the quarter finals. We won them 3-2.

Prior to the game, i made a request that i play my game first, so that i could catch my flight on time. Luckily Hall 9 was kind enough to agree to this arrangement. Daniel is the IVP in their team. I knew he always wanted to play against me. Me too! One of my teammate was actually worried that i would face him and lose this crucial point.

I guessed Hall 9's lineup correctly, totally within my expectation. I knew my team only has one good point coming from yx while my point and yk's was not confirmed.

I won the game 22-20 and 21-17. The first set was a comeback from behind from 18-20. Then, one more point for the opponent and they would have won the 1st game. I knew the crowd was damn nervous, but if we were to feel juz as nervous, that would not help certainly. I was so happy for wan qing that she could deal with the stress and pressure then and performed so well. Wad i did was to keep encouraging her and telling her to believe that she could do better. In the end, despite opponent attacking her, she had so much confidence till she outran the IVP. She won the game for me.

THis victory gave me a great boost for my trip to Kuching....
