My mum

Sunday was Mother's day and i went out with my mum to pulau ubin for prayers. That outing was a peaceful one, there was no grumbling abt waking up early for the trip. I think my mum was happy that i nv grumble abt going out with my siblings. Neither did i rush them or hurry them to get ready, everything was so prompt and even myself was surpised.

Come to think abt it, i think i was seldom happy on family outings, i dunno why. Maybe i make myself very busy for appointments and playing. Most of the time when my mum asked me out, i would only spare 2 hrs or so for a trip and thereafter i would be on another appointment and this partly explains the grumbling, hurrying pple. I am repentant abt this and i hope i will change for the better.

I wish to dedicate this post to my mum for being such a capable housewife. I doubt many mothers are as capable as her. She does not have much money at her disposal, neither do she have the help of siblings and me(feel bad cos i m always out). I muz praise her, despite multiple difficulties, she can handle all these problems and take good care of the family. As mentioned earlier, my family is not wealthy, juz enuff to live by, however, she can manage her finances very well, so well that i can eat a chicken for a meal. Anyway, its not abt eating chicken or wadever, I juz wanna illustrate a point that without much help, she can prepare many dishes single handedly. And its not 3 or 4 dishes, when my family prepares a meal for festive seasons, u will be amazed that the amount can feed a normal househld for 1 week. I m not kidding!(p/s, it will take her 1 whole night, and she will not turn in until morning abt 7am). As a son, i am really thankful for wad she did to the family.

When i was younger, maybe i was primary 3 or 4, the family wasnt doing well. My sis,bro and me were schling. My dad's business nv do well in that period of time. Life is really hard and i will give this part a miss. My mum, a part time seamstress, earning a mere 250 maybe 300 per month that time had painstakingly tried to contribute to the family and at the same time manage her own finances. Juz yesteryear, we shifted and i was impressed when she paid for much of the shifting,including renovation which is already well over ???. This were her hard earned savings. ( Salute 1 time)

These few days i was always out with mum, i was also unlike my usual self of grumbling. i went out with her without any complains. HA, she had consulted me abt investments and i agreed to check out with some banks. I was really impressed, she really had a hand in managing her finances. She was worried abt our future and asked me to go with her for some good investments. (Salute 2nd time)

Now as i recall wad we went thru together, i think i failed terribly as a good son while my mum manage to hold the family together. She is like the hardworking, indispensible 1st team footballer in my team. Running everything to tackle and spreading the play throughout. I hope very soon i willtake up the responsibility of taking care of the family,i wan to try hard to ease her burden. I hope by den i will be her very good striker.

That day, back from Ubin, we had a great feast together, we had 3 chickens, 6 big crabs, etc for dinner.(haha) I think i enjoyed it. I take this opportunity to wish all mothers a Happy Mothers' Day. I sincerely hope everyday will be a good Mothers' day for them.
