Watched Red Cliff 2 and the scenes of the film still, totally and internally refracted, in my mind. Well, the film was not too bad and not too good either to be hailed as the greatest film in the millennium. However, the moral of the story was something that impacted me, calling upon me to ponder what it is in life that is worthy of my loyalty and protection.
Cao Cao took hostage of the then Han Emperor and had a valid reason for his invasion on the Red cliff, to unify China and bring peace to the Empire. However, the Shu and Wu also had their reasons to put up a fight against the Caos – to protect their families. Both sides in fact had justifications in their acts, but victory can only belong to one. That is the part which is saddening to me. There is only one hero, and the loser can only be the villain.
I believe for many who watched the film, most are utterly impressed by the quick-witted Zhu ge Liang. He made good use of the mist to gain 100000 arrows. Better not talk too much abt the film, I m not doing a spoiler. LOL.
Anything underlying that fog of war is so unpredictable. To a point that a general with a backing of his 1 million strong army, dared not launch an attack and be made a mockery. He is definitely not wrong as he had every reason not to risk any of his soldiers to such danger which might be lurking in some parts of the water. Though that answer revealed dismissed his claims of such dangers, but shouldn’t we take any move conservatively. Protecting ourselves first before we can lay claim to any possible victory, that would be the most ideal situation, no harm, no loss of lives, no sadness, no hard feelings.
