Its the way ur name is called that counts..

Everyone has different preferences when it comes to how ur name is being pronounced. I personally dun like pple to pronounce it too accurately as it makes the person sound very distant or overly polite and i am not very used to it. Like my mum usually calls me " Sen ah" or "Yi Sen", and when i heard it i will perceive it as some calling to show concern or to give some advice. This type of pronunciation is exclusively for her, my father and my sis since i have gotten quite used to only them calling out this way.

This is the technical part i am talking abt and the way my name is being called out varies according to different groups of my close friends. My AHS buddies call me very accurately, by the chinese pronunciation, yet this does not mean that they are distant and not as close. If they are not doing so, i would feel weird. So accurate pronunciation is only exclusive to them. They know me inside out so its ok to call me so accurately. lol

My army friends usually call me YS or yu shen. Which is not accurate but i like it. It allows me to identify u all immediately if u are shouting out my name from behind. So this pronunciation is exclusive to u all. When i hear it, it will generally generate a "thick and thin" impression.

As for my students, the way they call me sound like they hold me in awe, though i dun look like i will eat them up or conduct some sort of very tough training. Maybe its the way i present myself, so unfriendly. LOL!

My uni friends will generally call me by Esen which is wad i prefer. HA but the way it is read out can have different interpretation for me. Sometimes, it sounds very much liek consultation. Sometimes, its juz some friendly yelling out to u; Sometimes its juz something that is very warming, heart warming.

Ha i shall not continue, the beer seem to have taken some effect on my typing. HAHA!
